out of dally, sodapop, steve, johnny, ponyboy, two-bit, and darry who is the weakest link or the one most likely to desert the group
I would go with Steve. He is the least developed character among the boys. He is not related to the brothers and, unlike Johnny, is cocky with a smart mouth. He is Soda's friend but Ponyboy doesn't like him much. His devotion to the group does not seem like it would last through thick and thin.
I think the most likely to desert the group is Darry because he never is with the rest of the gang even thought he is the brother. He also acts like a father more than a brother to Ponyboy
