Ponyboy’s reaction to the class division between the socs and greasers development

Pony often wonders why there is such a class division between Socks and Greasers. Pony muses that they share the same sunsets yet they want to hurt each other. As the book progresses, Pony understands that the Socs have everything and Greasers have nothing. No amount of brawls or attacks will change this economic disparity, Still, Pony realises that what is really important in life is family.
