The outsiders
The outsiders
At the beginning of the book, Ponyboy views Socs as rich bullies with no sense of respect or honor. Ponyboy eventually sees the socs as people just like Greasers. They just have different problems. Pony sees the futility of fighting that Johnny talked about. In the end Socs want similar things that Greasers do: love, belonging, identity, family.
