Why is Dally "raving" toward the end of Chapter 9?

Dally is "raving" because he knows Johnny is dying. Johnny's condition, however, does not keep Dally from leaving for the rumble. He is unable to handle the emotions and pain related to Johnny's death, and he expressed those feeling by leaving to let out his frustration and anger on the Socs.
