Kino's past life was filled with family love and harmony; he believes the have the 'Whole,' safety, harmony, and love.

The pearl changes his perception of what a perfect life is...... and it becomes all about education for his son (choice) and hope for the future, what he sees as having a better life. My question to you would be, do you think life can ever get better than the Whole?
