How has Kino's treatment of Juana changed over the course of the book?

Kino has to treat Juana more harshly as the novel goes on because the peace of his world is completely disrupted. He has to become more concerned about the safety of his family and is unable to enjoy the "Song of the Family" because the Pearl of the World has ruined all that. Juana, in some places, does not agree with Kino's way of handling certain situations, and once they come back and the pearl is thrown into the water to return to the ocean, life is never the same and he cannot treat Juana the same ever again.
