The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Do you agree with Bill’s statement, “We accept the love we think we deserve?”

I don't agree with the statement itself, but I can understand why in context people believe this to be a dead on feeling. People tend to gravitate toward those who are most like them. In turn, the love they find in friendships or romantic relationships is accepted based on a certain comfort level. It's when we move out of that comfort level, that like Bill, we tend to accept the love we think we deserve and possibly can't believe that someone not like us, or someone we deem better than we are (smarter, prettier) can't possibly love us—that we don't deserve their love—or that it's simply not real.
