Was it a good idea to let the tires out of Dave's car from something that happened a long time ago? What had happened?

It might have been a good idea because Charlie really wanted to hurt Dave. Letting the air out of Dave's tires gave Charlie some release. It was certainly better than a fight, which would have gotten Charlie into trouble.
