What do we learn about Charlie during his last letter?

In Charlie's final letter, we learn that he has forgiven his Aunt Helen and has hopes for a great future. He's looking forward to returning to school, making new friends, and rejoining the real world. He no longer desires to simply watch life; he wants to live it!
