Although most of the Humbug's other statements are false, is there any truth to his pronouncement that "History is full of Humbugs"?

This is a fantasy.... thus, anything is possible. If it weren't the Humbug wouldn't be able to talk. None-the-less, the characters deem him an imposter.... so I'd have to say his claim is false.

Why, we fought in the crusades with Richard the Lion Heart, crossed the Atlantic with Columbus, blazed trails with the pioneers, and today many members of the family hold prominent government positions throughout the world. History is full of Humbugs."
