Film Location Error

Why claim this story is set in Australia when it is clearly New Zealand (a completely separate country). This is made clear given that it shows and refers to its indigenous people, the Māoris and the wild New Zealand landscape. It also refers to Nelson, a town on the Northern coast of New Zealnd's South Island. This is a glaring error.

Perhaps the filmmakers wanted to keep the name of the original location, but they preferred the New Zealand location for various different reasons. Cost, beauty, the landscape...
