Identify the Americanness in this poem.
This poem doesn't have a definite theme, but it could definitely allude to the American belief that enjoying life and the nature around us always seems to be a secondary thought. From the last few line of the poem, we can easily assume that although the narrator finds himself enjoying the beauty of the forest it can only be a fleeting moment...... there's just too many other things to be attended to.
"The woods are lovely dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
