Yes, the Mending Wall is an autobiographical poem. It is based upon the years Frost and his wife spent living on a farm in New Hampshire..... a time of peace and happiness. In addition, the character of the narrator's neighbor is based on Frost's own..... a man named Napoleon Guay, who also coined the phrase, “Good fences make good neighbors”.
