The Death of the Hired Man by Robert Frost (Poem)

EI 6.  What if?  Suppose Silas had not died at the end of the poem.  Do you think Mary would have been able to talk Warren into letting him stay?  Why or why not?

I think she would have. The very fact that Warren goes to the barn to see Silas has the beginnings of forgiveness in it. Silas has retuned to the farm to fulfill his contract and, more than that, die with the people he considers family; I think Warren would be able to see that.
