How does Henry fight in this battle?

Henry fights bravely, but also with a sense frustration. He is angry the men are prodded forward, angry at the way the officers have referred to his regiment. He keeps his eyes on the flag, and then he becomes one with the flag, knowing that as long as the flag is raised, they still have hope.
