How does nature inspire Henry?

Henry’s first realization of the effects of nature came after first his first battle. He was shocked to look up and see the beauty of the sun through the trees, that even in the aftermath of battle nature was able to share it's tranquility.

From the text:

"As he gazed around him the youth felt a flash of astonishment at the blue, pure sky and the sun gleamings on the trees and fields. It was surprising that Nature had gone tranquilly on with her golden process in the midst of so much devilment."

The calm (nature) after the storn (battle) left Henry sleeping near the hillside.
