how many battles henry faced ?

Looking back at the novel I really see only two battles Henry is in. There are some bullets exchanged at the beginning but then only two major fights.

I believe Henry participates in a total of four battles. In the first, the Conferderates quickly retreat; in the second, Henry runs away; in the third, Henry shows he's capable of soldiering, and in the final battle, Henry picks up the flag from a fallen soldier and acts as flag bearer.

I'm not totally sure but isn't the battle where Henry shows his courage and bears the flag the same battle?

If you were to ask me............ the entire compilation of battles would be considered one and the same. The Battle of Chancellorsville, on which Crane is believed to have much of his information in the novel took place over the course of seven days from April 30 to May 6, 1863; whereas the Battle of Gettysburg was fought for three days from July 1–3, 1863. I would't have posed this question in regard to the number of battles but rather the number of attacks. If the battle Henry fought in were named......... I think it would be in the singular. The Battle of ?.
