Henry has become much more self-aware. He no longer has grandiose fantasies nor does he have sorrowful fatalistic moods of doom. Henry is courageous and thoughtful in the silent way that only comes from experience. Henry is a mature soldier. He has gotten their through a baptism of fire; now he understands the realities of war.
