what did you think of the mothers treatment of her son?

This is a dark fable. Mother tried to look like she cared for her sun but, for much of the story, she felt cold and indifferent to him. She really extended her disease of greed to her son. Consequently, the son spends the story trying to earn his mother's love by winning money for her.
