How would you describe the narrator's attitude toward Doodle?

The narrator loves and adores Doodle, but hes also all about pushing Doodle, accomplishing more, doing things that people say Doodle can't do. In many instances, the narrator's beliefs are correct.... in others, he pushes a bit too hard. None-the-less, the love is apparent.
