Meh... i think it's boring. Pearl isn't that weird- my little sister acts worse sometimes. It just seems overwritten to me (and yes, this is taking into account that the writing then was different). Hester and Dimmesdale don't seem to love each other that much either, and Dimmesdale's a bit of a wimp (he only reveals himself a few minutes before he dies. By the time the town processes what he just said, he's dead). But that's just me.
