Chillingworth is actually speaking to himself here...... he's now had confirmation that the minister has done something for which only God can help through Dimmesdale's statement, “Not to thee! But, if it be the soul’s disease, then do I commit myself to the one Physician of the soul!"
Chillingworth has somewhat of a confession for his suspicions; now, all he needs is the proof.
