Women would have to ignore society's rules and not let themselves be controlled by that society. She thinks far too hard about this topic, a sin in itself; she realizes that until the Puritans stop evaluating the actions of others, there will never be a safe, open place for women.

The end of gossip and scandals that affected women far more than they affected men.
