Why is pearl about to see the link between dimmesdale and Hester rather then the townspeople? What does this day about the Puritan way of reading the world?

I'm not sure to what you refer in terms of the townspeople. These two chapters most definitely unveil the relationship between Hester and Dimmesdale, and Pearl comes to understand that there is something between them, although she doesn't yet understand what it is. Pearl can see the discomfort and feel the longing; she can also feel a bit of jealousy, along with the betrayal she feels Dimmesdale has has done something that needs forgiveness, but she's not going to forgive him, hug him, or acknowldege him until she feels he deserves that kind of attention from her.
