Do you like the characters or care about them? Why or why not?

I can't say that I identified with any particular character. My experience is so different from any of the characters. I can say I found Lily to be so resilient and strong. Lily begins the novel at age fourteen, a sad girl who has experienced far more than most have at her age. I mean how do you cary on when you think you shot your mother? Lily perseveres and finds beauty in the most interesting of muses (bees). I really liked her.
