After Meursault arranged for his mother to live in a nursing home, why did he visit her so infrequently?

Meursault had no emotional connection to his mother, thus, he was able to walk away. She was taken care of..... his mindset wouldn't have allowed him to think of her. He was incapable, and his actions were based on duty rather than love.
