Camus concentrates a lot on colours. Meursault examines colours of the sky, colours of the sun's rays at varying times of day, colours of the beach, and colours of the ocean. Meurcault seems to attach green to happier moments like, "The sky was green; I felt good." He connects the colour red with anger or sex. The sun, depending on the time of day, also sets the imagery. Sometimes it is calming and satisfying imagery like at the beach; at other times it is stifling and constraining like at the court house.
