The Surrounded

Who is murdered in the book? And how does that affect Archilde?

There are two murders in the book, how do those murders play out and how do they ultimately end up affecting Archilde?

After only a brief visit, Archilde decides to leave the reservation. After all, he doesn't belong there anymore, as his parents and friends have made perfectly clear. But before he can go, someone frames him for two murders—one of which was committed by his own mother. The novel ends with the image from its title: Archilde being wrongly sought by the police, surrounding his house and demanding he turn himself in under threat of violent force.

Luis and the game warden are the two people who are murdered. It is the same scene of the book. Archilde and his mother are hunting in the woods. They come across Luis and he joins them. Then the game warden comes out from hunting himself and shoots Luis, then Archilde's mother takes an ax to the game wardens head. Later on, at the end of the book, Archilde is framed for both of these murders, and surrounded by police in his house.
