This line is from Act I, Scene I, of The Tempest. This line is spoken by Gonzalo, as the ship carrying the king and the others is breaking up in the midst of the storm. In this line, Gonzalo is lamenting what might possibly be a watery death.... though he cannot change his destiny.... he wishes for his death to be on dry land..... not at sea.
