Caliban is a source of curiosity for Trinculo.

The storm frightens Trinculo, so he decides to hide beneath Caliban's cloak.

Trinculo takes advantage of Caliban's drunkeness and mocks him as a monster.

Thinks Caliban is a monster,

"By this light, a most perfidious and drunken monster!

When's god's asleep, he'll rob his bottle. "

He thinks Caliban is a comedic drunk monster,

"I shall laugh myself to death at this puppy-headed

monster..."

He thinks Caliban is shallow,

"By this good light, this is a very shallow monster! "
