The Tempest
What is the significance of this quote to the play as a whole? "I would not wish any companion in the world but you; Nor can imagination form a shape, besides yourself, to like of."

act 3 scene 1
Miranda is all head over heals for Ferdinand. She talks like a schoolgirl in love for the first time. She speaks about Ferdinand in absolutes (kind of reminds of a certain Juliet speaking about Romeo). I think this reflects the innocence even naiveté that exists on this island. The Tempest puts these characters in a very simple Eden-like setting. Although there is discovery, there is also ignorance.
