Why does O'Brien keep repeating that he is 43 years old and a writer now?
He says that sentence every where. What is it suposed to tell us.

I never noticed this repetition but I think it reminds the reader that O'Brien is writing in retrospect. He as aged and matured from the person he used to be in the war. His thoughts are coming after sober reflection of what happened.
