Ok so i have been wandering what would have happened if Christof actually killed Truman on that boat.

Christof had a major God complex going on. His whole identity was tied to Truman. I don't think Christof could handle destroying his "creation" . The general public was also invested in Truman. There would be alot of emotional chaos and confusion.
