"we shall not be taken" how do these words illustrate robert's goal?

Robert changes allegiances through the story. He forsakes his connection with man for his connection with animals. One might assume that his words, "we shall not be taken" might allude to some type of human accomplish. In reality he is referring to a dog and some horses. Robert wants to usurp the brutality of man, he wants to tear the world apart so that the more sympathetic animals can be the symbol of life instead of man who only represents death and destruction.
