No, I don't think she reallt saw Kenny because he wasn't there. When Kenny asks Joey why she did not go to Sunday school, she says she did, but it was so hot that she went out and stood on the porch, and then she saw Kenny waving at her from across the street. She says that when she tried to come for Kenny he laughed and ran away, so she followed him all the way back. She notes that he had on different clothes. In turn, Kenny has absolutely no idea what she is talking about, and she yells at him for trying to scare her and for not telling her where Wilona is.

I mean, Joetta didn't really see Kenny, but thought she did. In this chapter, according to the author, a bomb exploded in Joetta's, (Joey's) church. But Joey got out of the church right before the explotion which is why she didn't get hurt. So, when Kenny is at his room, and Joey gets in, this is exactly why Joey gets mad at him. Joey gets mad at him because she thinks that Kenny is trying to scare her. But he really wasn't. Kenny was also very confused with what Joey had said. So the answer is no, Joetta did not see Kenny before the explosion. But she did think so.
