Mr. Ross notices that the student responses in history class lack thought and interpretation. It is as if they simply answer to obey. Laurie's mother ran into Robert's mother. His mother is so impressed that Robert has come out of his shell. Laurie's mother thinks the wave sounds more like a cult.
