What did Mr. Ross do at the rally at the end of the novel? How did the students react to it?

At the end of the novel, during the rally, Mr. Ross replays the video the students initially watched in class. He told them there was no Wave...... there was no leader..... but that they all would have made great Nazis. And their leader would have been Hitler. The students react, with shock, tears, shame, and horror.
