Kahu is Poro Apirana's great-granddaughter, which makes her father, Porourangi, Apirana's grandson. Why is there no mention of Apirana's or Nanny Flowers' child/children who gave birth to their grandchildren?

I don't think there is a specific reason: the author just did not go back that far.
