What does Mr. Toad learn from his addictions from motor cars?
Or from anything that he expirences throughout the novel?
Over the course of the story, Mr. Toad transforms. When we first meet him, he is a wasteful, inconsiderate character, who thinks of no one but himself..... self-gratification seems to be his motto. Mole, Rat, and Badge, his friends, thankfully step to the forefront and expose his weaknesses.... something Mr. Toad has no appreciation for, and something that might, in fact, have kept him out of jail. In the end, Toad realizes that he is ruining his good name. He escapes from jail only to discover his home has been taken over by Wild Wooders, and with the help of his true friends..... takes it back. In the end, he puts away his selfishness and goes onto become a respectable gentleman.
