What was happening all around Rat? What did he choose to do?

While all the other animals were planning to migrate south to follow the warm weather, Rat was questioning their reasons, and although has he suddenly decided to accompany the Sea Rat, he is just as quickly held back by Mole, who doesn't allow him to leave.
