The Witches

What is one unusual thing that Grandmamma does (the narrator tells you about it and then explains that she tries to get him to do it as a seven year old)? Why do you think this will be important in the story?

Grandmamma sits the narrator down to help him recognize a witch when he sees one. This foreshadows that witches will, in fact, be an integral part of the story.
