Why is Susan Hill a good writer?

In my opinion, Hill uses subjects and creates characters that are universal..... we easily identify with her characters, because they mirror people we know..... or even ourselves. In her work, Hill examines human emotions, specifically, the need for compassion..... something we can all relate to. Her books are also simply written and easy to comprehend.
