Yellow as a colour is traditionally associated with renewal and rebirth ( as the yolk of an egg). There are other associations however with cowardice and betrayal (Judas Iscariot is said to have worn yellow). When examining the art of Vincent Van Gogh, it has been said that his obsession with yellow was as symptom of his mental illness.
