In the story The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Not very good. The husband is a doctor but rather patronizing. He doesn't see his wife as a person more than an accessory. He does not listen to his wife's complaints more than belittles them as womanly nerves and female imagination. THe wife feels trapped.
