What is Janie's reasons for leaving Logan Killicks? Does the author seem to approve of her action?

Logan was an older man who treated Janie like an indentured slave. Joe represented something new and exciting. I think the author felt Janie had to get out of her marriage to Logan in order to expand her character as well as the narrative.
