Why are Joe and Janie suited for one another?

Based on Chapter Five, I'd have to says that the most obvious reason would be their personalities. Joe was loud..... he liked to take charge. Janie, on the other hand, knew when to speak..... and when to be quiet. They were a formidable couple, especially in light of what Joe planned to accomplish.
