In Achebe’s Things Fall Apart, how does Okonkwo behave towards his family?

Okonkwo is the head of his household.... period. His wives are expected to cook, clean, and take care of the children. Their purpose is to serve, and if they are lax in what he sees as their purpose..... they are beaten.
