In what ways does Achebe remind the reader that the feminine qualities of Ibo culture are important to its survival?

Although the women in this novel are not considered on the same level as men, they still play an important role in the culture. Indeed, many of the spiritual entities are goddesses and even the priestess is a female character. Mortal women are are subjugated and revered on a spiritual untouchable level.
