Once again Okonkwo uses hi matchet rashly,bringing disaster on his head. But he could be viewed as a defiant hero defending his people's way of life. What do you think of his act?

Sure he could be viewed as that but much of Okonkwo's personality is wrapped up in the masculine patriarchal ways of the Igbo. It is difficult to separate Okonkwo the man from Okonkwo and his culture. Okonkwo does tend to highlight the violent misogynistic traits that he has. He frequently tries to hide them under the veneer of his culture but much of it is his own doing.
