Part two of the novel relates much of what happens to the clan as a unit rather than just to Okonkwo. How does the reader know that Okonkwo is still the smae man who came to the village after being banned from his fatherland?

Okonkwo never backs down from his beliefs. He feel no differently about the white man now than he did at their arrival. He talks against them acts against them, and conspires against them. He believes in his culture and religion, and he will defend both. This is the same man who went away.
